How does g2a work, exactly?

G2a’s ways still seem unclear to some, so I’ll try to explain it in as simple terms as possible.

Is g2a a game store? No. G2a is a marketplace, a platform where you have people who sell stuff (sellers) and people who buy stuff (buyers).

The seller folks offer all sorts of stuff on g2a marketplace, like video games and software, gift cards, even hardware and gaming gear, etc. Plenty of stuff to choose from. Since there’s a natural competition there, they often offer better deals to outdo their “rivals.” And this is why things on g2a are often so cheap.

As a buyer, you’re not limited to just one option, you can choose any offer you like, anything that’s more in tune with what you want to spend on games (and you probably want to spend as little as possible).

OK, but here come more questions: is it reliable? How safe is g2a? Is g2a legit? You betcha!

The thing is that you probably often hear stuff like “this is where they sell games bought using stolen credit cards!” or “g2a is worse than piracy!” None of that is true, though.

Sellers are for the most part either wholesalers or retailers who get the games from devs and publishers directly.

The rest of the seller people are just some regular folks who have some unused keys and would like to sell them, because they don’t want them anymore.

And since g2a verifies the people who sell on their platform, it’s really, really hard for a scammer to do any shady business there. Aside from that, even if they fooled the anti-fraud team, they’d get banned as soon as they started their uncool shenanigans.

As far as shady behavior is concerned, you can’t rule it out 100%, but it’s highly unlikely on g2a, which is as good as it gets for a marketplace. For the most part, if there are any problems, they’re with keys or transactions, nothing that can’t be resolved with the help from the seller or customer support.

Besides, you have seller ratings, so if you want to make sure you’re chosen the best offer, take a look at these, read user reviews, etc. This is a standard way of shopping on marketplaces like Ebay or g2a.

In other words: g2a’s a legit way of buying games and a nice alternative to online stores.
